Marsala: En vin i krise

Mange kender bedst den sicilianske hedvin Marsala som den nødvendige ingrediens i Tiramisu – et møde mellem kaffe, ”Lady-fingers”, Mascarpone-ost, piskede æggehvider og altså Marsala. Andre ved også, at Scallopine a la Marsala – stegt kalvekød med Marsalasauce – kan være en nydelse. 

Marsalavinen er nu først og fremmest kendt som en ”madvin”, men vinens historie og oprindelse rækker tilbage til de sidste årtier af 1700-tallet, hvor de mere kendte hedvine fra Den iberiske Halvø havde deres storhedstid. I 1770 strandede den engelske købmand John Woodhouse i Marsala, hvor han fordrev ventetiden med at interessere sig for ........
